Sent a cheque for £50 at the beginning of December to my niece to buy a Christmas present for her daughter. This hasn't been acknowledged by phone or email although I know she has received it as the cheque has been cashed. I think this is ungrateful and more to the point rude. Am I being too touchy?

You know what not to do next year then ;o)

Just send a £10 Argos voucher or something next year. Don't blame you for feeling miffed to be honest. £50 is a lot of money to give someone at xmas! Wish someone would send me that lol! I would be very greatful :o)
