connecting the monitor
I have a fairly new computer and flat screen monitor - but i recently moved house and had to disconnect everything. now it is all put back together but the monitor says it is receiving no input. How do i connect the monitor to the PC successfully?
the cables I have got are the kind with a blue 'block' connection at each end (i don't know it's name) and i also have some various green leads (sound related i think, but that bit works, by the way)
can anyone help?

If there is one lower down, plug your monitor into that one as opposed to the higher one.
If that doesn't work, the only thing I can suggest is making sure that the connector is in as far as it will go, and that the screws on either side are tightened.
Thanks for the advice people. Its still not working though. I'm going to try putting the CD that came with the moniter into the driver tonight - but i don't see how that will affect it.
I was ever so careful with transporting the computer and monitor, I really don't see how it could be damaged.
and Yes, I did make sure the computer was on when I turned the moniter on, I tried turning the monitor on before the PC, the PC before the moniter, both of them at the same time.... I'm tearing my hair out here! all I did was move it from one house to another! what went wrong? :o(
