Open office and word 2007

Ive got some documents that are saved in word 2007 format, how would i be able to open them in open office if i replace word 2007 with open office

I'm pretty sure all word formats are compatible with each other, and open office is compatible with word, so no problem. Easy way to make sure is just open one in open office.
the latest versions of open office can open MSoffice2007 files, but it can't save in that format.
From what I can remember, Word 2007 can't read Open Office documents either which will make it difficult to send documents to someone else.

BTW you can use Office 2010 Beta for free until next October.
Open office can save files in a format that MSoffice knows, it's just not the default setting.
