ipod touch 3rd gen not jailbroken

i have on my ipod touch a large amount of contacts in the contact section. my question is , is there a way of backing up this list from my ipod to my computer?...safely without any way of deleting them in error, thanks in advance

iTunes gives you several syncing options for you contacts and will update your ms outlook contacts for you. Let me know if this doesn't work.
