trying to put free AVG security on

My computer has run out of internet security, and I tried to put AVG on, but it won,t load because I have (not by choice) AOL talk talk as my homepage. Talk talk is my internet supplier so although I want to get rid of the AOL talk talk homepage, I don't know how to. I didn't want to uninstall talk talk assist and go in case it stops access to internet. Please excuse me I am a bit of a dinasaur when it comes to computers! Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the AOL Talk talk homepage.

Are you sure it's not simply asking you to close your browser while it's installing?

try installing it again but close all other programs while it's installing.
