I'm on a site that requires my email address, but it won't accept the ( @ ) sign it keeps coming up as inverted comma (") Is there any reason for this, and is there another sign or equivalent that would be accepted??
No!!! i'm not pressing the apostrophe by mistake,it works elsewhere!!! Thanks.
This is a well known symptom of a keyboard that's set to american english rather than british english. can't remember offhand how to put it right, but I'll look it up now.
Looks like you have american keyboard layout set by mistake. Go to the control panel, then regional & language options to check that U.K. NOT U.S. is set as language etc.
Could be a recent change. Has anyone been playing about with your computer? I've heard of viruses that cab do ths too. Anyhow, quizman55 is right about the remedy as I assume he's using Vista, just like me. If your OS is different, the remedy is similar.
Right one at a time Quizzman55.....it's at the correct setting dizmouk2009......if I copy and paste the whole address it will accept it (which I did)so I assume that it might do the @ by itself Jumbuck the site i was on is a bit involved I'll try your one later. It's not a be all end all situation I just wondered why!!!! Thank you all for your quick replies!!
