May I just take this opportunity to say what a fantastic job the Police have done since last Thursday. Firstly their handling of the whole situation immediately after the bombings. Secondly, spare a thought for the poor b*ggers working 120ft underground in 60 degree heat trying to piece together the victims. And thirdly, how rapidly they managed to determine who the terrorists were.
These unsung hero's take far too much stick, and it's about time (especially when the moral of the force has been at an all time low in recent years) that the general public gave thanks for a Force which must be the envy of the rest of the world.

MargeB's suggestion is an interesting one but there are problems. I am visiting a Middle East country in a few weeks, as are thousands of others. The manpower required to track us all would be considerable, and I am not sure that we want these people to bully us into living in that sort of society. And nobody knew of any reason to monitor these few.
As someone watching all this from across the Irish sea It is very impressive how your emergency services and police force have performed over the last week. Also the army in Iraq - whether we agree with the war or not - they seem to me to be very professional in their handling of situations much more so than other armies. I say well done for the professionalism to all
