Since that thread is now irretrievable... let me just say to please_sir... I was in New York for my 28th birthday, which I would hardly deem an age to old to wear such footwear. Moreover, I think I looked quite fetching in them. ;-)

Yes, some 14 stone woman with tons of cellulite-ridden undulating flab squeezed into a short skirt and knee-high, vertiginous boots would look a tad tarty, I grant you....

Fortunately for me, I don't fall into that category.

I usually wear my boots with jeans or a long/calf length skirt,i'd hardly class that as tarty. My daughter wears hers with hotpants and tights,skinny jeans or a mini skirt,but then at her age (20) she looks like all the other young women around here.
