I have had to pay out quite a substancial amount of money which i am having to raise through a re mortgage is there any tax allowances i can claim on it.

Depends what you are doing with it. If it's for a business venture then you can claim what you spend on legitimate expenses against tax. But if it's just for personal use then no.
