Nervous going to work
30 Answers
Got a touch of social anxiety and lack of assertiveness and confidence etc. and just started a new job.
Somedays I don't feel like I can go to work and do the job because of above reasons.
Whats the best cure - just keep trying my best and try and hide my lack of confidence? Some people at work have said to me they have noticed I am shy! so i'm not hiding it very well.
I managed to come across really smiley and confident in my interview and now I feel as though they might see that I'm not so confident as I appeared. My worst fear is that they will think they made a mistake employing me

I feel for you x I suffered from this for a while, I seem to have overcome this now. My problem was being out of main stream work after bringing the children through school, I just lost my confidence. The first job I successfully got through the interview, but when I realised I'd got it & would have to start mixing with others, I rang & told them I couldn't go through with it!! It was to soon & my confidence wasn't there. The next time I got a job, I did struggle with work 'events' such as barbecues / Christmas parties ect.. I'd promise I'd be there & then wouldn't show. I would get upset & nervous. Sometimes I needed a drink to calm my nerves! I don't reccomend that at all. How have I changed? I suppose it was over time getting back in to mixing with people, gaining confidence in my job ect .. Any new job/ enviroment/ new faces will put you back a little, it takes time to adjust. Just keep doing what you're doing to the best of your ability. xxx
