Plans are afoot in France to prosecute perpetrators of 'psychological violence within marriage'. Insult your spouse, and you could end up in Court.
Intruiging - but just how do you prove such a claim? How do you ban such activity? And just who decides what constitutes an insult? Surely proving such misdemeanours is going to be very difficult. And just what would the punishment or sentence be?
I know from personal experience that 'psychological' or emotional cruelty can be almost, if not as bad as, physical violence - but this is going to be a much more difficult 'crime' to prove & Try.
Any thoughts?
I did wonder... but I don't want think people to think I'm just shallow & one-track minded. I just happened to log onto the bbc website & read this article - well, it makes a change from the weather & from muslim marches....?
He's not my spouse, so maybe I can't take him to Court, but my BF often calls me Heffalump or Bunny (or variations thereof, i.e. BunBun, Bunnykins, WunBun). Is this cruelty?
ACtually - I like Little Sausage... that's quite sweet. But if you called HIM Little Sausage, he might have cause for complaint?
Tricky innit?!
Thanks for the Link Ed - I'm not very good at techno things like that...
In my experience, most of the French are miserable gits, with a terrible sense of humour. I can't imagine they will be very happy about this latest proposition.
S'difficult Scotch - sometimes, for instance at xmas, we ladies prefer a chipolata (especially if it's wrapped in something, such as bacon) - and sometimes nothing smaller than a cumberland will do.
