in the junkmail section there is a taskbar which says 'empty'and it empties your junk mail. I can't see this in my inbox so when I delete I have to cross the boxes page by page...surely there is an easier way..

Yahoo webmail has a box at the top of the other boxes .. This selects a whole page ... You can then deselect ones you want to keep in inbox.
Is Hotmail same by any chance?
Maybe you can highlight mails?

hi Albags yes it has this function which I use, page by page , but as I keep forgetting to delete emails I have over 4.000 (thanks freecycle!) and it will take so long to to.
