Cyclamens

I always have a problem with indoor cyclamens. They seem to lose the will to live once they are over the threshold in my house.

I have one now that almost died on me but has resurrected itself and is still struggling to survive. All the original leaves and flowers died and were removed. The corm has now grown some very long thin shoots, nearly a foot in length, with very tiny leaves at their ends.

Any advice much appreciated.

I seem to remember something about only watering them from the bottom ie. stand them in a dish and keep that watered. Could be to do with insuffecient/too much light, then I'm not sure if they're shade-loving plants.

They need cool, frost free conditions to live. They hate warm, centrally heated houses so a porch or cold conservatory would be great for them. Water when needed and try not to splash leaves or get water in the crown. Dead head regularly (remove all the flower stem doen to the corm) and keep out of direct sunlight.

Many thanks to you both. I think my cyclamen is probably in too warm a location. I will move it & see what happens.
