Flat battery!! :(
Hi! I was hoping if anyone has any advice on how to get my car going again.
It was okay the other day,and was running fine.
Today I decided to stock up with a bit of shopping, but when I turned the key,it slurred a bit into life, and then stopped.I tried again, and then I tried once more. But it was as flat as a pancake!!
No life at all! Pah!! :-(
So,I'm stuck at home.My mother has a car as well, but although her car starts okay,I couldn't reverse the car up our drive. Our drive is slightly sloped so it's difficult to reverse especially when there is a lot of snow and ice.I've cleared as much snow as I can,and placed salt over the cleared area. But there seems to be not much traction at all.Oh well,I'll give it another try another day!!
Now,the main reason of this thread. My battery as you know is practically dead!! Kaput!!
So,as I don't have a cigarette lighter socket in my car, I cannot even recharge the battery that way.
Humph!!
Next time I buy a car,I'm going for one that HAS!! Will I need a NEW battery or what.
Or, perhaps jump starting it.Thing is my car is well away from my mothers car,and I don't feel like pushing it all the way to hers.Anyway,I doubt if I've got any jump leads. So that option is out.
I think my brother (who lives up the road) might.I'll ask him for help......

buy a new one. fit. then charge the old one and keep it in the boot. Always handy, know from experience.

Hi again Imhotep, I would not advise leaving a battery in the boot for safety reasons, I hope it never happen BUT if you ever get into an accident that involves the your car turns over there is every chance the the battery will be thrown forward, I have no need to say what the consequences could be! I think you know the answer to that?
It's easy to take the battery out inhotep, i;'ve taken the one out of my car and it's charging in the kitchen, really simple. My battery is 13 months old and was fine til this cold weather, when i finally got a jump start today the temp reader in the car said -11degrees, I had been out to start in and hour and a half earlier at 6.45, so it must have been way colder then!!
