cats playing or fighting
2 Answers
an earlier post has caused me to wonder again, do my cats love it when they are thundering around the house chasing each other? or do they annoy the heck out of each other? mostly the young one chases the old one. they hiss and tumble occasionally (this seems to be increasing), and even less occasionally they will actually settle down very close to one another. currently they are playing (?) paw scrabbling under the door and the young one is crying to come in. suppose i better let him, awwwww.

A growl, hiss, spit or cry usually indicates unhappiness.. and my two would always play fight in silence and both seemed happy to chase and be chased...
Its probably fine - but if the older one seems to be a bit bullied you can always try to separate them to calm them down a bit...
bless. Its lovely that they do seem to get on and enjoy each others company!

Ahhh, my cats always used to play when they were younger, they would get either side of the floor length curtain and paw scrabble, then one would 'jump' the other througth the curtain and that would lead to chase fights round and under the curtain! I would start to realise if one got a bit fed up though as the tail would start to wag madly and then the hiss together with the slap of a paw would make the other back off for a while!
As nosha said, it is great that they get on together and like to play, although if the hisses are increasing it may be that one of them suffered too rough play and is now a bit wary? I am sure that things will settle down again and they will sort out any differences!
