who decided that certain words were not good. who decided that children should not say these certain words. after all. Them beeing "naughty words" is an oppinion. Also, at the end of the day, all they are is a bunch of letters jumbled together.

There are some VERY good reasons these words are unacceptable in polite company.

The tone of your post suggests your nature is rather impolite, which is likely why this is such a mystery to you. I agree with the other posters that you need to clean up your question and frame it with a bit more consideration.

Once you do, we'll all happily explain to you why such language is unacceptable.

You are right - They are just a jumble of letters, but those letters, when displayed in a particular sequence - i.e. a word, have meanings attached to them.  The word is decided to be classed as 'naughty' or 'bad' when it is misused or used in malice against someone.  Take the word ******* for example - it is now classed as a swear word in our society, but in the past it was a word with a specific meaning. People have taken the word and used it maliciously and therefore its meaning has been lost and it has become a meaningless insult. (Now who wants their children using a word that�s sole purpose is to be insulting?) It�s all about education. You want to teach the meaning of words to kids so that they learn how to use the right word for the right occasion.

I do have a straightforward opinion, and an answer about the origins.  In fact I'm sure most of us here do.  But like the others, I'll wait for a polite question before offering a polite answer.

Well, I guess I was being rude by calling you impolite, so I apologize.

Remember, no one can ascertain your demeanor in your text, so you need to be careful about how you write things. Underlining, caps and bolding all imply earnestness, and caps imply shouting. Adding "NOW!!!" was just over the top.

If you're looking to get honest answers to an honest question, make sure you aren't insulting your benefactors!

all words are jumbles of letters; they have the meaning people agree to give them. If pancake is widely taken as an insult, then when someone calls you a pancake you will feel insulted. Most swear words in English have to do with excretion or sex, which are things which greatly interest English-speakers but also rather repel them (take a look at the questions in Body & Soul). Centuries ago, many more of them had to do with religion, but people have generally come to feel that religion doesn't matter so much any more, so swearing an oath 'by Mary's milk' as people used to do will just leave hearers baffled. And other languages, I'm told, still base fewer swear words on genitals.

And as everyone else has said, please don't shout.
