If I am looking at myself in a mirror from a distance of say 2 ft, are my eyes focussing at the mirror's surface (2ft), or on my face (4ft)? TIA.

Put a mark on the mirror, (E.G., blob of shaving cream, soap, toothpaste). Look at it from 2ft. Then look at your relfection. Feel your eyes changing focus to 4ft?

Yeah, good analogy heathfield. I never though about this but am surprised at the result.

I tried feeling my eyes changing focus to 4ft, and all I did was stab my eyeball with my fingernail. Can hardly see the PC screen now : ' (
