Do you believe in the global warming theory?
57 Answers
There seems to be a worldwide belief among world leaders that the world is getting warmer and that the reason for this is man made. Do you agree with this theory or do you think it is just a natural process of a living planet? Yes or no answers are fine, yes being agreeing with the heading but feel free to expand on your answer.

I'm far from convinced that it is a man made issue. I feel that the large proportion of it is a natural occurance and all this talk of reversing it is purely political mouthing.
The climate is warming up as glaciers etc are melting and temperatures increasing, whether Man has contributed to the increase of global warming, I think he has and I hope that everyone of us is doing our bit of recycling and energy saving whenever possible - small as it may be we should do whatever we can.

I'm from Ireland and we are getting hit with a 15% carbon tax brought in be Green party a**holes who only got into government to give the main party, Fianna Fail a whipping boy, SICK. Seriously, what difference can Ireland make in global warming stake (which I don't agree with int he first place), have you seen the size of it?
Yes global warming may well be happening.
Yes we may be contributing in some small way.
No I don't believe we can do much about it.
We should be making more effort to prepare for what is supposed to be inevitable.
(I bet planning is still being granted on flood plains)
There's another thread going on on this subject questioning the Gaia concept.
I believe the earth will heal itself probably through war and/or pestillence, and as Jake says, it could get very ugly.
I have grandchildren, and I fear for them.

Yes, but I prefer to say that I agree with the theory rather than believe in it. Belief is only relevant when discussing fairy stories which have no associated evidence, such as aliens, Santa Claus and the various gods that are currently popular. There is a huge amount of data associated with climate change theory, so it is more reasonable to discuss the meaning of that data and whether or not it supports current theories. The opinions of someone who has only read the headlines in the Daily Mail and had a chat with their mates down the pub is of significantly less value than that of a climatologist with 30 years experience.
