Where is the most exotic place you have languished or would like to languish? My favourite two, during my years in the M.N., are Bondi Beach in Sydney, and Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro !.....
Ahhhhhhhhh on the Beach next to the hotel Riu Caribe in cancun Mexico, it was absolute bliss listening to Garth on me Ipod, sipping vodka daquiris, watching the mexican waiters wizzing in and out if the seaweed and sunbeds and watching the huge waves crash in from the Carribean Sea in the 110 degree shade. Total paradise.
I wasn't asleep!!! just people watching, Sam Elliott had the penthouse on one side of the hotel and we kept looking out for him, we do think we saw him once on his terrace.
Toss up between two extremes for me. Spent xmas in St Lucia, all inclusive so "drinks were free", fantastic sunshine and waited on hand and foot. On the other hand spent a few days on Skomer a little island off the Pembrokeshire coast last May no mod-cons and a communal kitchen and it's hard to say which I enjoyed more
I love St Lucia.......went on a lovely catamaran trip last time we were there........also the view when cruising into Venice at sunrise.....quite spectaculor....
Cozumel, Mexico: White sand, clear blue sea, barracudas, iguanas, wild aloe vera, blazing hot sunshine -ice cold Dos Equus -mmmm muy hermoso :-)
Annapurna region of Nepal: breathtaking mountain scenery, clearest starry skies I've ever seen, buddhist temples, incense, amazing flora and fauna and the Nepalis are lovely people -dherai sundar :-)
...The New Forest: lush woods, marshes, iron-age hillforts, ancient pagan gathering places, wild ponies/donkeys, 'kin excellent off-road cycle trails, great local real ales (eg. Ringwood Old Thumper) ...and great camping.
