stopping 2 year old climbing up bunk bed ladder

Can anyone suggest what I can do to stop my 2 year old climbing up my 5 year olds bunk bed ladder?
It is a cheap metal frame thing and we obviously want the 5 year old to be able to still get up and down somehow.

seriously i remember as a child wanting the top bunk and feeling jelous of my brother who slept there, it is a natural thing for kids of 2 to want to climb !!!!! can you make his bunk area more exciting??? take him shopping to pick out his own duvet cover put stickers and a nice poster on the wall by his bed, put a curtain across to make it his secret safe haven where nobody is allowed to go except him !!!!

off the subject, but my sis and I used to have bunks, i had the top. As a kid I used to have vivid dreams and dreamed one night (I was about 8 or 9) that I was parachuting out of a plane...yes you guessed it, I woke up when I hit the ground, had leaped out of the top bunk.
