My Wife and i are considering starting our own Business , we have an idea for a name , does anyone know where i can look to see if the name has already been taken ? Thanks in Advance
To save time, search on the net first. See if the company name has a registered domain name...if it has, think of another name. Not sure of the steps after that!
You will need to see an accountant who can register a company for you for as little as £100. He will be able to tell you if your name choice already exists. You can take an existing name and tweak it around a bit.
There's more than one, say, Bombay Palace around, so you could register Bombay Palace (Northampton) Ltd., and still just have Bombay Palace above the door, for example.
Above answers all presume you wish to set up a Limited Company. You could do but you certainly don't have to do so. If you want a company then yes, starting point would be to search Companies House website.
It would of course be much simpler just to trade as a partnership. The tax regime isn't quite as kind if you are making a lot of money but if you aren't it's better and simpler. An accountant will advise. Worth checking the web first as a search to see if anyone else is using your name and, if so, if it's likely to cause confusion.
hello,
You can always check out the site www.checkdomain.com or godaddy.com to figure out if the name is available. Also there are many web hosting sites that also have a complete directory of already existing URL's. You can also take help from there. Media URL: http://www.logodesignconsultant.com/ Description:
