To cover up the fact that her slob of a husband had farted in front of the vicar, the hostess immediately asked, "More tea vicar?" to which his shocking reply was, "Yes. And I'll have another piece of that f*****g cake as well!"
"more tea vicar?" is a non sequiteur, used as a device to draw attention away innuendous, embarrassing or undesirable subject matter. The inclusion of the vicar pertains to said Monty Python sketch, which itself pertains to the gentile vignette of the parish vicar being politely entertained by a member of his congregation on a sunday afternoon over tea and scones. And hard s*xual deviancy.
