One of our cats has a habit of pawing the floor to ceiling window in our conservatory when he is served his food - his bowl is next to the window. We noticed this in the evenings and thought initially he was reacting to his reflection. However, he has occassionally done it during the day. What behaviuor is this displaying? He also paws the floor in the near vicinity of his bowl.

Lots of cats do this MrZippy.

Also - we've kept a litter tray in the kitchen whilst the snow is thick outside. Every time our cat Milly uses it, she first covers her 'business', then paws the floor & wall. It's quite amusing to watch, but is quite natural for cats!
murphy does this on the floor by her bowl and also the fridge which is next to her food bowl
My little Princess Merlin does this - she is trying to bury the food/treats that she has not eaten but she wants to eat at a later time. She is hiding them from her greedy thug of a brother.
Our cats paw the floor when they don't like what we have given them - burying it, yes, but because they don't like it. He might not like feeding near the window, they like to feel secure when eating. One of my cats will look at his food then check out of the cat flap before he starts eating, just to make sure nobody's likely to come in and disturb here.
..or even disturb HIM, sorry fingers not working well this morning.
