I know many medications would become dangerous if they are old, but I have som Xenical that are a good few years out of date now... but...as they only contain orlistat, and no mind altering stuff, kind of herbal almost, i wondered if they were safe to take them...I did ask someone at a health food shop and they said that as it is a BEST BEFORE and not a USE BY date the worst that vould happen is that they just no longer work...

so does anyone know better? and can tell me what the effects might be?

(please, dont just say, 'oooh bin them'...im aware thats the usual advice, id like to know if anyone actually knows for sure)

thanks

I've just read the paperwork with mine and it says it would be ok to take them but they may not work as well. so I would give them a try.
jan........let me get this straight.........your "paperwork" said that it would be OK to take the tablets even though they were "years out of date?"

Ive quite often taken paracetamol that has been a few months gone past its use by date and no problems reported.
