does getting your belly button pierced hurt!?

im really worried about getting my belly button pierced, ive been waiting 4 ages and my mums finally given in, im having it done in september but im quite scared its going to hurt and if it gets infected? im also quite squimish and i hate blood will this affect me? please write back someone! thank you xxxx

Hi lil-lottie I had mine done years ago.  It didn't hurt much to have it done, but afterwards it was really sore for about 9 months. It never got infected but hurt if it was knocked or rubbed on my clothes.  I think its cos I wore waist high jeans, cos as soon as i started wearing  low waisted jeans it got better straight away.  good luck and let us know how you get on

Getting bits peirced doesnt uasually hurt, just make sure you keep it clean

it doesnt hurt to get it done but i had alot of trouble with mines after, it was infected for ages but it was pure determination that made me keep it in because i loved it so much.

Mine didn't hurt either but it was sore afterwards, and i ended up taking it out cos it was clearly healing out.  That was about 12 years ago and i still have a small scar.

Hi lil-lottie, I had mine done about 10 years ago.  It really didn't hurt and I am just like you....terrified of blood, so if I can do it...so can you.  You are laying down when they do it and they spray something on there to make it numb..  It's just a bit sore afterwards, that's all.  Keep in mind that it takes 6 months - a year to fully probably heal.  Just take zinc tablets and keep it clean... salt water and surgical spirit is good for it.  Just stay away from jeans for the first few weeks as my ring kept getting caught on the top button!  Good luck.

I had my belly button done 4 years ago, it didn't hurt and have never really had any probs with it. I think it's got a bit sore twice when my trousers rubbed but I just salt watered it and it was fione after a couple of days. I do have one bit of advice about cleaning. Fill a glass up of water just over halfway and put loads of salt in (i mean loads), then if your careful while standing up put the glass top round the whole of your belly button then lean back and the water will get in everywhere. Once you become an expert you can even do it sitting down or laying on the bed!! Do it, it really cleans it completely

I had mine done about 5 years ago. I have to say - it did hurt me. Not the actual needle going through, but the clamp they put on first. But to be fair I am a complete wimp and needle phobic. So much so that I passed out 4 - yes 4 times when i had it done! The man who did it had to carry me out through the shop to my mums car cos I couldnt walk!!

Hi - I had my belly button pierced and it didn't hurt at all. It hurt much more piercing ears than my belly button! It took months and months to heal even though I cleaned it with salt water evey day. Eventually I just used soap in the shower (you're told not) and it healed within days (but this may not work for everybody...). Good luck!

I had mine done about 3 months ago....same day as i got my first tattoo done!  Nothing like pain eh?  Actually, it didnt hurt when they pierced it, just nipped a little afterwards.  Mine can still hurt a little if my belt catches it or i knock it at work, but its worth it coz it looks fab!

Just keep it clean, be very careful to begin and you'll get along fine!

hi im 13 and very small so wen i got my belly button done i thoughtit would hurt alot !!!!!!!! i was shaking a lot wen i went into the room the lady marked my belly button and told me to lie down on the bed  then she clamped it this hurt a bit she then told me that was the worst part over and she put some cream/liquid on my belly button to numb it she then got got a white tube  thing with a neddle on the end and stuck the end of my stud on it she pushed the neddle through the hdot she had marked earlier this didnt hurt as much as the clamo she pushed the top on and put vaseline on it and a cotton pad. i went home and a hour later got into the shower to wash of the vaseline for the next 8 or so weeks i cleaned my belly button 2 times a day with the aftercare solution and washed my hands and belly button often to make sure i didnt get a infection i can now change my belly ring which i do do occasially i don't regret gettin my belly button done and would tell people that if you are prepared to  look after the piercing probaly and get it pierced at the right place you will be very happy with the end result. i had my belly button pierced at the maxx in bromsgrove

I git my belly button pierced at the start of augest before  i went i was so scared and when i got there the piercing shop was closed so i had to go the following day wich made me evan more nervios! but when i got there i was settle and not as nervios it does NOT hurt if you get the navel numbed that bit stings a bit but the weird thing is its only spray once you had that done you can not feel a thing trust me good luck for september

hi dont worry if you take care of it it wont be as likely to get infected. im 15 and i got mine done and 14 so i have had it about a year .. i m not too good with blood either so i just closed my eyes until the guy finished .... if your really scared. maybe you shouldnt get cuz thats means ur not as surei was very nervous and i only "freaked" for like 2 seconds wwhen i saw the needle so if ur jumpy about those thihngs just clse oyour eyes and take a deep breathand ull be fine it doesnt hurt except for a second while th needle is going through..well good luck!

i had my belly button pierced when i was 11 years old or 12 cant remember. I am 15 now (nxt month) when i had mine done it only felt like a pinch then it was over.
When mine healed i always used to sit there pulling it in and out. DONT do that, it really hurt after a while it really ****** it up it bled like mad to. If you clean it regulary and stuff it WONT hurt, its well worth it, i promise :D
