Half hard and playful & thrilled skinny
My friend has used 2 sayings recently that I'd not heard before. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has heard these expressions and could shed any light on the origin and usages please.
He thanked us for his birthday pressie saying he was thrilled skinny.
Our neighbour, a 70+ male, is always doing work for a much younger female neighbour. Our friend commented on the fact he is always up a ladder doing work and the poor old boy was running a risk of a heart attack. Then he said, still, it might keep him going, keep him half hard and playful. My friend said this was an expression his dad used.
Many thanks
