Potty training - number twos....
Hi all
Not the nicest of subjects, so apologies in advance, but I could really do with some help!
Baby Picky Snr is 3 at the end of the month. Over Christmas I have potty trained him. He has taken to doing pees brilliantly - he only had accidents on the 1st day and never since. He is able to hold on until we get to toilets, will go standing up and has taken to it fantastically. However, poops are a very different story. Every time he will go in his pants. He'll say "I need a poo, I've done a poo" and that'll be in, it's in his pants again. I've tried everything, sitting him on the potty/toilet after meals, bribery (I know I shouldn't!), begging, pleading and I just don't know what else I can do. His comprehension is very good, but he seems to have a proper issue with this. Any advise would be very much appreciated
Thanks

- he might like the idea of using the big toilet like everyone else does. (We got one for our oldest son and they are brilliant!)

I know this sounds silly, but im now a nan and when my kids were training, i used to sit myself on the potty, well as best as i could, have a packet of maltesers hidden but handy, then used to do a bit of straining and hey presto there were maltesers (pretend poo ) in the potty, it worked for me, but dont eat them afterwards lol.
I had this problem with my daughter. It went on for about a month after cracking the weeing from what I can remember. He will just do it when he is ready. As hard as it is, don't make a fuss, just clean him up and ignore it. You could try a sticker chart too.
In the end, my daughter said she needed a poo and as I was busy unpacking shopping at the time and taking no notice, she sat on the toilet and did it all by herself! I think the trick was not putting any pressure on her and leaving her to it. Of course I then made a huge fuss and she never looked back. Just think he won't be still doing it when he is 18!
