athritis in shoulder

Has anyone out there had a joint injection for painful athritis? If so, does it hurt , does it work and
does the procedure have to be repeated? Thanks for any advice as all other creams and medication has not worked.

Have I had it done?.....No

Does it hurt?....depends on expertise of doctor and whether or not he injects Lidocaine with the steroid. Sometimes yes, sometimes No.

I once had a rotetor cuff problem. I was given an injection and yes, it does hurt a little, sorry I'm being honest with you x

I had corticosteroids injected into the spaces between my ribs once, it was one of the most painful things i've ever experienced, if the shoulder ones are in any way similar then yes, it will hurt!.

I had it done more than once.
I wouldn't say that it hurt too much and it did work...for a while.
However, don't despair with your shoulder. Mine is much much better now with just exercise and Tai Chi
