If you decide to use this option (or anyone does) be extremely careful to make sure you have backed up any important data and backed up your registry as if you make a mistake in this area it can leave your machine next to useless. Failing this xzzyz if your using XP you could try restoring the machine to a point previous to the install of winamp.
This is how/where to remove entries that appear when
you right click a folder:
Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to:
HKEY CLASSES ROOT\*\OpenWithList
HKEY CLASSES ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
This is where some items are located.
You can also go to a specific File extension (example:
HKEY CLASSES ROOT\.txt\ShellNew) and right click on the ShellNew key and
select Delete, if the item shows up in the New context menu.
I took backing up your registry before tampering with it as red (we are dealing with intelligent people here aren't we?). Thanks PD for the specific locations and when using the XP restore function I have only managed to get this to work properly (when uninstalling a USB ADSL modem) if I went back almost to the beginning of the XP installation! You may not have uninstalled WinAmp properly so try reinstalling the entire WinAmp program again then uninstalling using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel (but I am sure you knew that already).
