A film that I have on my laptop is a RaR file. Any ideas how to change this file to say, a movie file or something else so that I can play it using Windows media player or something the same. Thanks

There are probably a bunch of them, just 'extract' one in situ and it should automatically knit all the other bits together -then you should end up with something more familiar.

That just means that is has been zipped to reduce the file size.

If you don't already have an unzipper then the one I use is IZArc http://www.izarc.org/ but others are available.
