Notifications like facbook

Can we have notifications like facebook do to notify you if your question has been answered. Would make this site just that little bit better, not that it needs it but any improvements are good eh? I know we already have e-mails to notify us if our qu has been answered but something to notify us on the site instead of having to go on to our e-mail would be good. Just a little popup in the corner or something eg... 'you have an answer to 'question title', click here to read now', something simple like that. :-)

The trick is...do not take your eyes off the recent posts box.

I dont, but it would be nice if i could give my eyes a bit of a rest. lol I like to use facebook at the same time, but, i dont get much chance to go on it because i have to keep an eye on the latest posts box incase i miss something. :-)

You should receive an email when you subscribe to a question. This is a good way to find out answers to questions asked by other people (i.e. things you are interested in but cannot contribute to.)

Hi ed, yeh the igloo was a bit of a disaster in the end but it was fun to build, we shall have another go next time it snows and i shall upload some piccys, Would it be a possibility to have a small popup or something like it as i mentioned in question, would be really useful. Hope you are well too. :-)

Hotmail and msn, i do get the little ms popup in the corner telling me i have an email from ab but it doesent tell me which question has been answered or anything like that if you know what i mean.

It would just be nice to have a little alert or notification like in the bottom right corner of facebook, its a bit of a pain in the bum havin to go onto email to find out lol.

How about a AB toolbar? Or maybe a status-bar app? Something that runs in the background a little like tweedeck?

Any thoughts on these options?

We used to get notified, but that "service" stopped without notice/reason! :o(

You get notified by emails when you subscribe SurreyGuy!

Just press subscribe to question ant you get a notification after the adverts on the right hand side

Yeah, AB Editor, I know that. What I was meaning that we didn't used to have to "subscribe" to our own questions in order to be notified of a reply.
