The flax or any hand spun thread is either z-spun or s-pun. One is done by a right hander and the other is done by a left hander. So you can estimate the proportion of left handers in ancient populations if you want. - 8%

What you do with the information then I am not sure.

The flax that the imprint of christ was forged on ( Holy Shroud)  did not differ in quality (= stylistically looked like) that of 2nd century palestine. Which means that flax linen production techniques did not change significantly for 1000 years.

The Hebrew word pistah is translated flax, linen and tow. It's used about 20 times in the OT, but none of the references refer to yellow. The single NT use is Matt 12:20 quoting Is 42:3.
