i think my friends are beginning to suspect i have an eating disorder. and so is my mum. but i dont. well i dont know. basically just before the beginning of summer, i did conciously start excersisng more and eating less.. even though i am naturally a very slim person.. i knew i was thin, because im always told how slim i am.. but i just didnt like my thighs etc etc. anyway, i went back to eating normally, but at the moment i just dont seem to ever want to eat. i often forget meals simply because i am so busy, but for example the other day, all i ate all day was a packet of crisps. i just feel sick whenever a meal is placed in front of me and even the smallest amount of food makes me nauseous. i am fed up of people yelling at me to eat my meals and getting angry at me.

Well I would say that was very under weight. When I was 8 stone (5ft 6 ) I only got negative comments. I didn't diet though....It was a mixture of all the walking I had to do and stress.

I occasionally have days like that and I certainly don't have an eating disorder and I'm definitely not underweight!

However that said, when I do get like that I make myself eat something simply because the body needs fuel to run and I get tired and irritable if my blood sugar levels drop too much. I may not feel hungry but eating some soup of a some fruit or drinking a smoothies isn't really a chore and can be done on the hop as well. Ultimately, just cause you're not hungry doesn't necessarily mean your body doesn't need something. If you can't stomach eating anything then maybe you need to investigate your motives.
I agree with most of the above replies, I am 5`6" and 8 stone 3, my doctor nags me all the time to gain some weight. I find food a chore, so have lots of quick and easy things to pick at. Pasta salads, soups and fruit are good as are smoothies and to build you up there are liquid food supplements like complan. That way at least you will get some calories and as your mood improves your appetite should return.

Its also interesting to hear you say you are not happy with the way you look and you need to address that too.
Hi bella,

I'm around the same height as you and for a long time I was 7.5 stone, it was only really about 4 years ago I started putting weight on! (I'm 22 now).

Even now I have put weight on and got up to around 9.5 stone, I go through phases of just not being interested in food, and same as you, people I work with and friends nag me to eat and always say I dont seem to eat much. But then I also go through phases where I can eat like a horse and munch on everything in sight, (but people dont seem to notice those times!!)
Why not sit down and have a proper chat with people, let them know how you feel and hopefully if you are up front and honest then they might react better than if you get defensive or try to hide anything.

Maybe a trip to your GP to make sure all is ok and to make sure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals and such you need as your body is developing.

If you take a mature and sensible approach it might help you get less grief and in getting any help you might need with other stuff like your body confidence and why food makes you feel nauseous.

Eating disorder or not, going all day on just a packet of crisps really isn't good for you.
