I need new abs sensors to pass my MOT. My car is an X Type Jaguar. I've tried to find out what the approx cost is but the sites are so complicated and want name address etc and all I want to know is how much it's going to cost me so I don't have heart failure tomorrow.

Anybody out there know?

It depends how many are faulty Chrissa, check EBay for a start, Type in your car's details, the part you require eg/ brakes then sensors, if it's only one then you are talking in the region if you have the right part £100 but get quotes before you EVEN start getting the job done, too late when you say, get it done remember that.

£100.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blimey. If I get them elsewhere I'll have to pay for another MOT, so I'm stuck.
how d'you know the sensors dont work? Try another MOT centre.....some just fault for more work.
Hi, I take it this problem has only just started? your car being a X Type you will obviously pay more, when is your car due its MOT? Is there a Mr Chrissa that could clean out the sensors? at times this does work but once they start that's the time to renew. If you put the full details of the Car on here someone may help you will some sensors that they have had and never used, you never know until you ask. Good Luck.

The warning light has been on for a while so I know there is a fault Tambourine. If I tried another MOT Centre I'd still have to pay another £50.00 TWR. This is a local garage and I think, trustworthy.

Thanks you two.

Thanks mdoo. No I'm not fitting them myself. I managed to fit a duff dip headlight but found out when it was dark that I was lighting up the side of the road beautifully. A mechanic told me I had done very well though!!
These sensors don't fail all that often.
They get filled with crud from the road - especially in the winter. The one to examine first is the front nearside - the most common culprit. Receives more crud there.
