Mouths and operations!

Recently my neice had an operation in her mouth which removed 2 large chunks of gum from behind the top set of teeth in order to expose two canines!

She is in a lot of pain and wants to know how long it will take for the gum to start re-growing! Thanks!

My best suggestion would be to ask whoever did the op

I had some wisdom teeth out a few months back and it seemed to take ages to heal afterwards. I discovered a mouthwash called Gengigel which naturally aids the healing process and is safe for pregnant women and i'm pretty sure it's safe for children (i'm not sure how old your niece is)

Thanks! My neice is 14 and I'm afraid to say won't talk to her orthodontist (I think she may be a bit embarassed as she bit him on the last visit after she was told she was having an op, she assured me this was purely accidental!). I'll try and find some Gengigel, thanks Pilchard.

oh big up to your niece! In the past I have had dentists that I would have LOVED to bite. Finally found one that i can trust now

my neice has now decided that she hates dentists and that they are all evil. i kind of agree though... Then I met my new dentist, he is really nice...................

recently had op on tongue which lef me with 22 stitches the healing process within mouth is remarkable and it took 4weeks to heal so v v well

Cooled (but still warmish) boiled, slightly salty water, rinse around the mouth several times a day.  As advised by my dentist.  Cheap - and really helped with the pain and the healing 'n' all.
