with the weather being so broccoli ive had to put our washing over the radiators to dry and was told by a neighbour that i shouldnt do that because its turns the radiators a yellow tinge, is this true?

Not sure if it will go yellow, but if there are any little nicks in the metal, the damp will erode it eventually! Buy some radiator airers they're only cheap!
I've never heard that, lotsafun.
I can't say I've ever had that happen to any of my radiators.............
Depends on the paint on your radiators.
It can do with some older radiators/paint,but I think even with them you would have to have washing on the rads for practically every day of the Winter.
You can get what are actually towel racks that clip on the rad,that would stop the washing from touching the paint.if you are that worried.
