Has anyone tried the so called Amazing Iron shoe on their iron? does it really prevent burns and shines to your fabric or is it just another cheap money making Gimmick? cheers for any info given. Kev
I bought a cloth, came in pack of two I think from Wilkinsons & you place it over clothes when ironing & prevents shine/burns. Something like £2 so pretty cheap. I use mine all the time especially when ironing trousers. hope this answer helps
I was making dancing skirts for the girls in our group and said to one of the girls " Here's your skirt . Take it home and iron it with a damp tea-towel "
Confused look from teen-ager and then she said " Oh not with an iron then ? how does that work ?"
Had to explain that I meant a damp tea-towel under a hot iron . Bring back domestic science.
Baest thing to prevent shine.
Thanks for your answers Alzeimer and Thelewis, i guess at £2.50 its worth a try as im forever burning my clothes, causing them to shine everywhere lol but i wont be count on it that it is gonna work wonders,we will see i guess. Naomi lmfao cant beat Comedy moments like that haha priceless.
Spot on Naomicorlet.....the old ones are the best and a damp towel is by FAR the best way of pressing clothes without the risk of "burn and shine"
As you say - bring back Domestic Science - the youngsters of today are clueless ..the throw-away society we have produced has a lot to answer for!
I agree Naomi and alzheimer ...and what about that look you get when someone says they don't know which programme to wash their (expensive) new jumper on & you suggest they hand wash it?
:o)
Mama i got mine off ebay, just type in "iron shoe" on the ebay search and you will see them. im very happy with mine and so is my family, so they all have one now aswell. lol
