Popstar to Operstar~An Observation.

I have come to the conclusion tha this show is rigged for Jimmy Osmond to win.Don't ask me why I just get a gut feeling.I am not saying he is the worst however.
2.
The ghastly screaming during the programme is (I believe) "canned,much like the canned laughter on comedy programmes.I don't think the competitors or the audience can hear it,it's generated from the control room.It is the same screaming that you hear on X Factor,Britain's Got Talent,Dancing on Ice,and So You Think You Can Dance etc.
3.
I am firmly convinced (having watched all the programmes) that the competitors are NOT singing live but miming.My opinion is tha they record three or four takes in a studio (after their rehearsal/mentoring session) and it is that we hear.
Call me cynical, but how we know if they are actually singing or not?
The studio audience wouldn't know if they were miming or not as they miked.

I got so sick of the screaming I didn't wait for the voting!(I was so convinced by my theory)

BTW since when have Granada,or the other "song" been considered as Opera?
I mean,last week Jimmy Osmond sang Volare which a pop song in it's day!

Mr Veritas, you normally talk quite sensibly but I'm afraid here you're talking out of your 'er, elbow. Mime? in a foreign tongue is almost impossile in sinc. even in ones mother tongue its difficult. But what does it matter? sit back & enjoy the prog & stop putting 'em all down, they're doing a great job to entertain us.

I agree with you Jemisa. I am really enjoying it. However, the screaming is just diabolical and last night there seemed to be just one "girl" that gave out a high pitched scream at the beginning of the applause.
This wouldn't be allowed in a theatre if there was no television cameras and the guilty party would be asked to pipe down or go. Or am I from just an earlier and more polite era?

I think Bernie is fantastic and as for Marcella...well! Loved Jimmy though.

I have to say I think Bernie Nolan (to my untrained ear Mr. V) is very good and should win. I think this program is for the opera uneducated masses like myself Mr. V. I can understand that opera lovers like yourself would have no time for it and the screaming would drive you mad - there is absolutely no place for it on a program like this.

the programme is incorrectly named ...
it should be "popstar to singing in an operatic style"..... they are not and never will be opera stars.

kathrine jenkins is not an opera star, she sings songs in an operatic style !
