KM Links Game - January week 5 results

Good morning everyone, as we round out the contest for the first month of the new year and if that's any indication of how fast the year's going to go, I'll start my Christmas shopping tomorrow and maybe I'll be organised just in time !!! I know, weird Aussie sense of humour, not funny at all !!!

Well, it was a very good month as the Leader Board will show - lots of points to lots of people and the matches this week were -

Bass Clef
Speed Boat
Lincoln Green
Hatchet Man

and needless to say, Speed Boat was the one where most tripped up - only three very astute players managed to grab the points for that one - namely ulysses100, cliffyg and Rose Maybud.
However there were no real 'hot shots' for the game, but 15 entries picked up 3 points each for their two correct matches and a further 27 picked up 1 point.

Ok there were a few who weren't able to score this week, but only a couple who, as mentioned last week, make an art form of this particular side of the contest and it's probably best just to let them get on with what they enjoy doing - but there'll be more on that later.

So I'll finish by saying Congratulations to all those who scored all those points this month and get this posted. Well done, everyone..........S

Most of you will remember the free fall club - bit like bungey jumping but without the ropes - I believe my near neighbours across the Tasman are responsible for the safe version, but there are a few ABers who, missing the adrenalin thrill of being in with the correct matches on the dot of 7.00am, now choose a different kind of thrill - how obscure can their answers be without completely jeopardising their chances of points - in other words, getting through the month scoring no points at all - strange, but true !!

Hell, I wish it would tell you how many letters you've used !!!!! Now I can't remember what I wrote - this is not good.

Perhaps I'll just go with the closing thoughts - have a good week everyone, and we shall reconvene here next Saturday morning, same time, same place for the fun and frivolity of a brand new month.....till then, cheers, Steff

Thanks for that Steff. You may not believe it, but I am actually trying to win .... spectacularly! I don't think any of my choices are ever really obscure - just different!

Thanks Seekerz. Did rather better on KM than MM this month (i.e. 0 points for MM!) It's good to have the two 'fixes' per week - keeps me from wasting Saturday morning on frivolous matters like shopping, washing, ironing.....

Thanks Steff. I'm sorry you lost some of your spiel ~ we are the poorer for its loss. However . . . . on a practical note, when I do a longish blurb anywhere and because I too got caught out once too often, now, before I submit anything anywhere, I copy and paste it onto a blank e-mail and send it to myself. It has turned up trumps for me on a few occasions when I haven't had to try and remember Wot I Wrote!! :0)
