Fru Puds - Planet Friendly plastic pots?

Anyone know exactly HOW these plastic pots are planet friendly? It doesn't say on the packaging.

Can't say for sure, as I've never eaten one and never seen the packaging, but I do know that some manufactureres (including Innocent Smoothies) are going over to this type of 'plastic' packaging because it degrades within about 6-8 weeks. In an ethical sense, yes, applause for effort, but you also have to consider, as one recent newspaper article put it, the implications of western consumers making biodegradeable food packaging out of a staple foodstuff when people in other countries are starving for the want of the basics.
Planet Friendly Plastic is a brand made by J. Terence Thompson, Inc. in Hagerstown,MD. The plastic is made from 99% recycled plastic....says so on the label. No new plastic was used. I don't know if recycled plastic uses less resources, but at least there will be less plastic in the landfills and in the oceans. Moreover, the label says the plastic is MADE IN USA. That is terrific. I bought my Planet Friendly Plastic tote in Lowe's.
