Slovakian music

Neighbours of ours had a CD of what was almost Greek bozouki type music, which they always put on when they were having a bit of a thrash.

I did ask what it was - a couple of tracks were quite catchy - he just said slovak music. Our conversations rarely went beyond "Morninks, neighboor" his English exceeding my non-existant Slovak!

They've since moved. Have tried amazon etc, can't find the tracks. Anyone know of a Slovak party/folksy CD? ta muchly!!

cant wait to hear the music......aint it great meeting the E.Europeans. Our local grocery has shelves of strange foods for them - its costing me a fortune to taste and bleuuuuuugh :(

A friend of mine spent some time in Slovakia and brought back a CD of some great music. It's labelled "Terrafolk" - N'taka.

Answerprancer - thanks, Paprika is similar to what I was looking for. The track is like the Greek Taverna one, when they all shout "WHOOP-PAH" every so often [see my Greek is no better than my Slovak]. Guess I'll have to keep looking
