Just how lucky are we?

In NM (always a good) thread, I refer to my slow-cooker which I wouldn't be without, we wash by opening a door then turning a dial or pressing a button, we have dinner then put the plates and stuff in the dishwasher !
we don't get up from our chairs to switch the television over, we no longer beat the eggs and butter together when we bake, a electric whisk does that, then we can talk to people on a mobile wherever we are, and then come in here and chat to people we will never meet but develop a bond with some !
So were they "The Good Old Days" after all :)

Years ago Bobbi there was far more camaraderie than there is these days. Gone are the days when you could go out and leave the house unlocked as the neighbourhood was largely drug and crime free. Good neighbours still exist, but we live in an age that has become so High Tech and materialistic. It is so called progress at a price and many of us wish for the 'Good old days' in some respects.
I'm all for Technical progress as we cannot stop that. Providing we have the money just about everything is available to us. The biggest curse of modern society is the hard Drug culture which is a destroyer of lives and Families. I am an optomist so maybe the Good old days will return in some respects. Amen ! Ha Ha
funny I thought about the progress of technology when I was watching only fools the other day they showed the grandad watching the national anthem that they used to play before the TV closed down around midnight. now the tv channels never seem to close down, there is always something to watch at any hour!
