c4 countdown

hi all,
can anyone answer me this please?
on the channel 4 countdown programme, when one of the contestants pick out a selection of numbers and then the calculator does a sum and they have 30 seconds to try and work out the sum to get to the same total as the calculator?
well, my question is, do all the numbers that have been picked have to be used in the sum or not please?

I agree with Jan,
I often get the number (yes this very old brain still works! LOL) and sometimes I only use 4 numbers,I HAVE even done it with 3;but that has to be a very easy number!

i dont particularly watch the programme another view, and didnt particularly want to sit through one to maybe find the answer myself, thats why i thought id ask on here - you know like we do when we have a question! - but thanks for the suggestion anyway, most helpful .......... :o)

She's certainly come out of her shell, she used to be all hesitant & frightened to smile and give that butter wouldn't melt look - stuff, N O W she speaks more, has outrageous hair-do's, is much quicker on the board, and fairly smacks those letters in place, and yes Jan, the skirts are shorter. (She makes Carol seem like the Queen mum)

I think the choice of dress and hair is more down to wardrobe than her personal choice, she has relaxed a lot more though even when she is made to wear a uncomfortable looking cocktail dress
