By the end of this month, Lindsey Vonn will be a household name and face. She will be like Michael Phelps (but without a willy, obviously).

Unless she crashes, Lindsey is going to do very, very well in these Games. So here are some bets to get on early, before the odds go down. ...

1. A good accumulator ... Lindsey Vonn to win a medal in all 5 Alpine events (Super combined donwhill, Downhill, Super G, Giant slalom, Slalom).

2. Separate bets on Lindsey Vonn to win Gold in each event.

3. If you're feeling brave, go for a "5 Golds" accumulator.

4. Team GB Women (Nicola Minichiello and Gillian Cooke) to win a medal in the Bobsleigh.

Looking forward to it all, but they are frantically carrying snow up the Mountainside in preparation. They could have done with some of USA big snowfall, but it may still happen !

I hope they don't put it on mainstream prime time TV as it will be inappropriate to make us watch/endure people enjoying snow if we are engulfed in an arctic blizzard and not able to get to work / school/ shops etc tut

The snow situation there is not good.

Also, the Canadians are being really poopy about letting other nations have practice runs.

Personally, I don't think North American countries should be awarded Olympic Games. They are too selfish. Okay, Los Angeles was an okay Summer Games, but the worst Olympics EVER ... Atlanta. Almost destroyed the Olympic movement.

And Canada, who hasted the Olympics in 1976, only finished paying for those games in 2002, and they are still whingeing about that!

Leave it to the Europeans/Asians, I say. But not us. We can't afford it.
