views aree good if there's no cloud or the wings aren't blocking your view.

food, drinks, space aren't good unless you go first/business class

turbulence, threat of crashing etc is bad is your paranoid, and both are bad no matter the class you travel.

Trains are nicer to Paris, Brussels and Lille, but anywhere else (including some UK destinations) rather slower.

Always sit near the back. Ever heard of an aeroplane reversing into a mountain?

Remember, any landing is just a controlled crash and any landing you can walk away from is a good landing!

I did but it didnt take long for us to exhaust the question.....just thought someone on here might come up with some blindingly obvious answer that we had missed....oh how wrong was I.......;-)

well, it does help if you explain at what age level the question is pitched - fairly basic level in this case. Planes have been a big factor in the explosive growth of mass tourism in the last 40 or so years - especially since the creation of the jumbo jet by Boeing. This enabled more people to go further, cheaper (before that flights were expensive and the privilege of the wealthy; most people holidayed in Britain). This was good news for Brits wanting to see the world, and get some summer sun or winter skiing. For those countries on the receiving end, it may mean a huge financial boost; but it may also mean the disappearance of their own way of life as McDonald's open up eateries across the globe. (There used to be a Holiday Inn in Tibet, though I think it's gone now.)

Take-off and landing are the best, bad pint is the boredom throughout the flight (esp if its a long flight) bugger ll to do and not enough leg room half the time!

And.............why is it some airlines show movies like Executive Decision and Passenger 57 on their flights?....................lol
