dog whistle or something to stop dogs barking?

i´m living in the country now, but have a big problem with barking dogs!!
can anyone recommend something to stop or reduce the noise? eg a dog whistle or something.

1st of all brenda, no there not my dogs. the fact is 90% of houses in this village has a dog. most of em are behind big fences and gates, but 2 or 3 are not,but are attached to chains, which are attached to a bracket on the wall, well shes convinced that 1 day the chain will free itself!!!

hi jules77, i ´ve been doing some running around, analysing pet corrector, apparently its just a can of compressed air with a picture of a dog on the can. its an ingenious idea, but i´m told the same thing can be bought from staples for a fiver less

Not quite a can of compressed air, it is very loud and my dogs hate it. I have used it when other dogs barked at mine when out (with the owners permission of course). I just point the pet corrector in their direction and they crawl up their own bum!
