i used to make paperclip jewlery at school by linking them all together was anyone else sad enought to do this lol?

Yep, we did that - we thought they looked Punk. Plus later we chained together all the paperclips in the boss's desk tray - not popular!
A paper clip straightened out is quite a useful tool for quite a lot of little jobs...
