To start I would say that Everton knows what he is talking about as I have always known that he is a bus driver s he is aware of the situations they may face.
As to the action of the driver, being Muslim myself I think he should have waited to get back to his station or a place where they have few minutes rest before return journey as during that bus is usually empty. Muslims do have to pray five times and if it does not disturb anyone else then it is preferred on time. However if your job is kind of where other people can be disturbed then you can delay it. If you do not like that then you should find another suitable job.
I am accountant by profession and have worked for different employers. I always made it clear during the initial interview that I would like to do my prayer but most of the time I would manage that during my lunch break. But if I am with a client or for any other reason it is not convenient then I would delay it. And majority of the employers were OK with that. And then compulsory prayer does not take more than few minutes.
For the driver, I believe that they should let him know that he should wait till it is more suitable and I am he would understand, if not then he must find another job which should allow him more liberty.
