is there a way to freeze car insurance, then open it again, then freeze it etc

on and off, as and when i need to, when i am driving a motorhome...?

i have a car i want to keep and use...but also want a motor home, but i will only use it occasionally

and i dont really want to tow a caravan instead

Not sure of the cost but there is an advert on TV for an insurance company that does short term insurance (1-28 days I think)

hi, thanks, yeh i dont want to do temp cover as it costs a fortune, i want say a years policy but only to be used for a few months at a time...and freeze it in beteween

can't you get a multiple vehicle policy that reflects the predicted annual mileage for the motor home?

i did some searches and found a cheap insurer, so i'd like a policy that is similar in price t a normal policy - but as i say 12 months insurance spread out over say 2-3-4 years

any ideas?

If you freeze your insurance and the motorhome gets stolen, damaged or catches fire then you have lost it, surely you would be better just taking out a policy specifically for low milage, stored vehicles with a high excess. This would be a lot cheaper and you would still have cover

when not insured it would be kept in a garage so i wouldnt be too worried about it at those times
