/// The decision has given insurgents time to plant thousands of extra roadside bombs at key locations, Defence Secretary Bob Ainsworth admitted yesterday.///
/// Mr Ainsworth said the warning was given to allow civilians to flee the area ahead of the assault. He said minimising civilian casualties was a central part of the new strategy to win ‘hearts and minds’ in Afghanistan.///
I would have thought that foremost the most important part of the strategy, would be to protect the lives of his own countries lives. But then we all know that our politicians always class foreign lives more important.
Many of our troops stand to loose their lives because of this stupid Defence Secretary Bob Ainsworth. I don't suppose he has ever donned an uniform in his life, unless of course it was a cub scout uniform.
What country would warn their enemy that an attack against them was imminent? It was a good job that we didn't tell Hitler that we were about to launch D-Day.

What's more puzzling is the TV report that said that individuals, identified as scouts radioing information from 500 metres from our position, could not be 'taken out' because of 'the rules of engagement'. Granted the enemy might know enough basic information without them, but there's no need to make it easier by providing details..
